Although we are living the 21st century, some countries still adopt the death penalty as punishment for serious crimes. This happens mainly in Eastern religious dictatorships, but incredibly it is still practiced in some US states.

We know that public policy is a matter of choice between different needs. In this sense, one of the functions of the state is to manage the best possible public resources to ensure the fulfillment of all constitutional demands.

In this way, it is perplexing that the state spends three times more to execute the death penalty than to arrest a criminal forever, as item (C) points out. Besides being a savagery, it is a waste of public resources.
