Class 6 must collect at least $430 so that the band will receive $2,000.

Explanation:

Step 1:

The band will receive $2,000 for selling $12,000 worth of coupon books.

6 band classes collect money by the sales drive. We need to determine the money that they need to collect so that the band will receive $2,000.

If they want the band to receive $2,000 they must sell coupon books worth $12,000.

Step 2:

Class 1 collects $2,400.

Class 2 collects $2,800.

Class 3 collects $1,500.

Class 4 collects $2,320.

Class 5 collects $2,550.

Assume class 6 collects $x.

The inequality will be:
2,400+2,800+1,500+2,320+2,550+x \geq 12,000.

x\geq 12,000 - 11,570 = 430.

So class 6 must collect at least $430 so that the band will receive $2,000.

P.S. Class 1 should have collected $2,400 not $24,000 or else class A would have raised $4,000 by itself.
