Population may be considered positive hindrance in the way of economic development of a country. More scope for innovation, invention, and creative genius, and enables specialisation, and higher population densities more effiencient.

The cons would be the pressures on natural environment, water shortage, increasing of pollution, its effects on global warming, and overuse of non-renewable resources.
