We make j the subject in equation i then substitute in ii:


j=94.95-6s\\\\\#substitute \ in \ two\\\\4s+3j=109.85\\\\4s+3(94.95-6s)=109.85\\\\4s-18s+284.85=109.85\\\\14s=175\\\\s=12.5\\\\j=94.95-6* 12.5=19.95

Hence, it costs $19.95 per pair of jeans and $12.50 per shirt pair.
