The answer is x=10
Step-by-step explanation:
When you set up the equation you have to cancel out the 6 by adding 6 on both sides like this -
5x-6=44
+6 +6
You then wind up getting
5x=50
Then the last step is to divide by 5 on each side.
5/5x=50/5
X=10
