To find y-intercept bring the formulat to explicit form,

y=(1)/(6)(-48-11x)

Now put in x = 0 since we are looking at what value y does the function intercept the y-axis.

y=(1)/(6)(-48-11\cdot0)=-8

The line intercepts y-axis at y = -8.

Hope this helps.

Answer:

y = -11/6x - 8

Explanation:

Step 1: Solve for y

11x + 6y = -48

11x + 6y - 11x = -48 - 11x

6y / 6 = (-48 - 11x) / 6

y = -8 - 11/6x

Answer: y = -11/6x - 8
