It’s where the ‘fittest’ animals— the ones that can adapt to their environment faster and more efficiently— will survive and the ones that are unable to adapt will die or be eaten, leaving the fittest animals to reproduce and give their offspring the good traits (like maybe for example long legs to run from predators, or camouflage colors) that will help them survive in their environment.
