Mrs. Mallard closes the door to her room so that her sister Josephine cannot get in, yet she leaves the window open. Why does Chopin make a point of telling the reader this? Answer: Chopin made it a point of telling the reader this so that enough information to access the situation with Mrs.Mallard

Explanation: Yes she thought by closing the door she is free from her sister but unknown to her the window is Open so she is not free and her lovely sister can still come into the room.
