There would be 9 roses.

Explanation:

The ratio began as 3 to 5 so in all there were 8 flowers.

If there are 24 , being that 8 x 3 = 24, then all you have to is multiply both sides of the ratio by 3.

3 x 3 = 9

5 x 3 = 15

9 + 15 = 24

New ratio is 9 to 15
