Each human cell only has 1 set of 23 chromosomes. The only time it gets 2 is when it is about to divide and copies its DNA (go through mitosis and cytokinesis). When the cell splits, each daughter cell will have 1 set of 23 chromosomes again.

Answer: Explanation:

We have two sets of chromosomes because we're diploid organisms: the most obvious function of this is that two parents can mix and match their genes in (figurative) hopes of getting some optimum combination in at least some of their offspring.

Hope this helps!!!!
