The Great Compromise made it so that each state gets 2 senators. The states’ number of representatives depended on the population. The 3/5 Compromise was about slaves. Southern states wanted their saves to count as population so they could have more representatives. Northern states argued that since slaves weren’t allowed to vote, they shouldn’t count as population. The states agreed to count 3/5 of the total number of slaves.
