The perimeter of a rectangle is 50 inches. If the width of the rectangle is 10 inches, what is the length?

Well to start off you need to look at the formula for perimeter in this case for a rectangle it is P=2(l+w). After that you need to see what you are given and what you need to work out.
P- perimeter (50 inches)
L - length (unknown)
W- width

50= 2(lx 10)
Therefore
L - 15 inches
