What are the similarities between critical reading and plain reading? ​

Answer:

Critical reading is a more active way of reading, the reader applies certain processes and models. Instead of only reading and understanding the text, you would also analyze the paragraph or sentence, interpret it (what does it mean? What is the writer trying to convey to the reader) and also evaluating it

Plain reading would just be reading and understanding the text; no deep thoughts, brainstorming etc.
