M = 3J - 8

M+J = 52

substitute M

3J -8+J = 52

4J -8 = 52

4J = 52+8

4J = 60

J = 60/4 = 15

=> M = 3J -8

= 3(15) -8

= 45 -8

= 37

so, Mom's age = 37 y.o
