conduction is when heat is transferred through physical touch
eg: when you touch a hot pan, the heat is physically transferred from the pan to your hand.
convection is when the heat is transferred through liquids
eg: when you mix hot water and lukewarm water, they both mix and come to the middle.
radiation is where heat is transferred through the air (or basically not through touch)
eg: how the sun’s light reaches our earth.
