the permimeter of a rectangle is 50 inches the length of the rectangle is 10 inches which method can be used to find w the width of the rectangle

Answer:

38.1cm or 15inches

Explanation:

You can simply get this from the formula:

perimeter of a rectangle is 2(l+b)

where your b is the width of the rectangle.

Now,

width = perimeter - (2l)/2

= 127-(2*25.4)/2

=127-(50.8)/2

=(127-50.8)/2

=76.2/2

=38.1cm

P.S: Calculations done with centimeters (an inch is 2.54cm)

Total perimeter = 50 inches
Length of the rectangle = 10 inches

Total perimeter without 2 lengths = 30 inches (take away 20)

Half the perimeter to get the length of one width: 15 inches

Width of rectangle is 15 inches
