the numbers given would replace the variables, so x would become -2 since its -x, and y would be (-3) in parenthesis since its to be multiplied (i believe if im remembering correctly) therefore it would become:

-2 + 2(-3)

It would be -2+2(-3)

Which means -2 plus 2 times -3

According to PEMDAS you have to do parenthesis first so 2 times -3 is -6 +-2=-8

So the answer is -8
