The probability of getting the flu during flu season is 1/8 . If a family has 8 people living in the same house, is it guaranteed that one of them will get the flu?

If a country has 8 million people, about how many do you expect will get the flu? Does this number have to be exact?

Answer:

1 for every 8 ppl get the flu, the country has 1 million times the whole so we just multiply the numerator and denominator so the answer is 1 million. and yes it is in theory 100% possible for one of the fam members to get the flu.
