x\ \text{and}\ y as number of pant and shirts

Spent money must be equal or less than the total money. The inequality becomes


\Rightarrow 80\geq29x+12y

For 1 pair of pants that is, 1 pants


\Rightarrow 80\geq 29+12y\\\Rightarrow 51\geq 12y\\\Rightarrow 4.25\geq y

That is maximum number of shirts that can be bought are 4.
