The symbol < means ‘less than’ and > means ‘greater than’. But your symbol has an extra line underneath, almost like an equals sign (=). It means ‘less than or equal to’.
I can’t type your symbol, but will use =< instead.
So: 2=We are told x is an integer (whole number) so the possible solutions are the consecutive numbers from 2 to 8.
That is: x = 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8.
