Answer and Explanation:

The Muslim league wanted independence, a separate Muslim state(Pakistan today) from the then Hindu Majority India. The movement was led by Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Even though the party(Muslim league) didn't like or were critical about British rule, they believed they had something to gain(muslim independent state) by choosing to back Britain when they declared war against Germany in 1939(in what would be World War II) and the Indian Congress refused to back Britain.
