Each time you have a sexual reproduction the offspring get a mixture of both the parents genes, making the offspring's genes unique. However since the asexual reproduction would produce an offspring with an identical genes to one parent, the genes are the same.

In other word the asexual reproduction does not have any diversity, and the sexual reproduction does because it is a mixture of two parents genes.
