I really dont understand this :,v :;

why do you think Southern whites felt threatened during Reconstruction?

Mainly because reconstruction abolished slavery & Southern whites had slaves working for them on plantations. They probably felt threatened to their way of life. Plus they would have to relinquish ownership of slaves, which were their workforce.
