So first off, what is the formula for finding area of a circle?

Its
\pi r^(2)

We know that r(radius), is the distance from one point of the circle to its center.

In this case it is 7.

Note that in other cases, you might see a line going strait through the middle of the circle.

This is the diamater, and is 2x the radius. If you see the diamater, divide it in half, and you will find radius.

Now, back to the problem.

We know our radius is 7, so lets plug that into
\pi r^(2):


\pi *7^(2)

=


\pi *49

=

153.93

So tecnically, this test is wrong. THe actual answer is .07 bigger than what they give.

However, it is the only possible answer, so it is correct.
