If you move DOWN, then that means you are moving in the "y" direction (up and down).

Thus, you are moving the unit "4" not "10". Since you are moving down, you must add to know where your starting position is. You add "4" and "6" together to make "10".

going down 6 means subtracting 6 from the second number

lets reverse that to go up and add 6 back
