well depends on what you’re writing! if it’s a story anything morally messy. my favorite tip i’ve ever gotten is use your characters flaws wants and flaws to your advantage.
what do they care about most? take it away from them. write their recovery from it, or lack thereof.

really make your character human, somebody your readers can relate to empathize with and care about when they’re in pain.
