Base=x+6

Height=x

Area of a triangle is 1/2bh.

1/2·x·(x+6)=56

x²+6x=112

x²+6x-112=0

(x+14)(x-8)=0

x=-14 or x=8

Since x can’t equal a negative number, it must be 8.

Height=x = 8

Base=x+6 = 8+6 = 14
