Answer: x = - 6

y = 7

Explanation:

Let 2x -5y = -47 be eq. 1

And 6x -5y = -71 be eq. 2

By substrate of 1 - 2:

2x-5y-6x+5y = -47+71

so -4x=24 and x= -6

Substitute x in any eq.

2(-6) - 5y = -47

-5y = -47 +12

-5y = -35 so y= 7
