When you subtract x2 + 2xy + y2 from 2x2 + 6xy - 3y2, what is the result?

Answer:

x2 + 4xy - 4y2

Explanation:

You have to subtract the values with like terms, so you´d have to take x2 from 2x2. You can´t take away x2 from 6xy because they are different terms, and it wouldn´t be compatible.
