Pennsylvania attracted many immigrants from Europe with its freedom of religion. Moving to new lands, Europeans from different countries brought their way of life, including various education systems. Therefore , in the late XVII -early XVIII centuries . several different types of schools have sprung up in the colony. The national education system, which appeared only in the XIX century, absorbed much of what the colonists created.
