1. to understand what jewish people as well as other minorities went through and how Nazis wiped out almost an entire population

1. it shows how the institutions that are supposed to protect their rights and security, but how they can be turned against society.
it demonstrates the dangers of prejudice, discrimination and dehumanization.
2. teaches about human possibilities to the most extreme. this can develop awareness not only how hate and violence take hold, but also the power of resistance and solidarity in local, national and global contexts.
