Amanda has $227 worth of bills in her purse. She has six more $5 bills than $10 bills. The number of $1 bills is three fewer than 25 times the number of $10 bills. How many bills of each kind does Amanda have?

Answer:

There are six $5 bills and nine $10 bills

Explanation:

x= $5 bills

y= $10 bills

x+y=15

5x+10y=120

5x+10(15-x)=120

5x+150-10x=120

-5x= -30

x=6 so y=9
