x = 4

Explanation:

since each side is equal to x + 1 and there are 6 sides, to get x alone, you have to subtract 1, six times from the perimeter.

1 × 6 = 6

30 - 6 = 24

then divide that by the number of sides (6)

24 ÷ 6 = 4

x = 4!
