The expanded form of a number is every digit with its own zero's and its own SINGLE digit. For example, the expanded form of 12 is 10+2=12, or the expanded form of 13498 is 10000+2000+400+90+8=13498.

We can now figure out that 5600 in expanded form is 5000+600+00+0=5600, but the extra 00+0 is not neccessary, so our final answer is 5000+600=5600
