Explanation:

To find the median we need to reorder the numbers from lowest to highest:

14,15,39,42,48

The one in the middle is the median! If there happens to be an even number, take the two middle numbers add them, together and divide them by 2.

To find the mean (also know as the avergae) we need to add all the numbers together and divide by the number of values that are present:

42+15+14+48+39 = 158

158/ 5 = 31.6 or 32
