Chromosomal mutations are deletions, rearrangements or translocations a of large sections of DNA.

Both can have effects ranging from harmless to fatal/non viable.

A point mutation could be in a region that does not code protein (and thus likely harmless) or it could introduce an early stop to translation of a gene into a protein (which could be deadly)

Chromosomal rearrangements might have the breakpoints in non gene coding regions and so be harmless or the break points could interrupt the function of vital genes .
