We need slope

  • (3,1)
  • (6,2)

\\ \rm\Rrightarrow m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

\\ \rm\Rrightarrow m=(2-1)/(6-3)

\\ \rm\Rrightarrow m=(1)/(3)

Solution:

This can be solved using two methods:

Method #1:

  • Rise/Run = Slope
  • => 1/3 = Slope

The slope is 1/3.

Method #2:

  • y₂ - y₁/x₂ - x₁ = Slope
  • => 2 - 1/6 - 3 = Slope
  • => 1/3 = Slope

The slope is 1/3.

Looking at the two methods, we can conclude that:

The slope of the line is 1/3.
