What does this quote mean????

"I Stared a t the bandaged head. I didn't know what he wanted to confess, but I knew
for sure that after his death a sunflower would grow o n his grave. Already a
sunflower was turning toward the window, the window through which the sun was
sending its rays into this death chamber."

I think its talking about the fact someone is about to die from having a bad accident, which another character is trying to say what is going to happen to the grave appearance.
