So first what I do is I list the factors of 24 and 32. So for 24, I would write 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, and 24. Then for 32, I would write 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, and 32. Finally, I would look through both lists and try to find the greatest number in common, which would be 8.
