Answer:

1 2 = 2 4 = 3 6 = 4 8 = etc. All of these fractions are located at the same point on the number line. Therefore, they represent the same number. From the paper folding exercises, we see that increasing both numerator and denominator of a fraction by the same factor gives an equivalent or equal fraction.
