The trenches are mud up to our ankles. In other places, the trenches are waist deep in water. We spend all our time digging and filling sandbags, running for supplies and stores, or building up the tops of the trench. There is no time to be weary or bored.

What does this journal entry describe?

the difficulty of eating in a trench
the difficulty of bombing a trench
the difficulty of sleeping in a trench
the difficulty of maintaining a trench
