Caroline can crawl 6 feet every 3 seconds. She is trying to be the faster crawler in her day care by traveling the most distance in 13 seconds. The current record is 24 feet in 13 seconds. Will she be able to break the record? If so, by how many feet? Show your work on the sketchpad.

To do this, we divide the feet she can crawl by the amount of seconds, so 6/3. 6/3 = 2. So she can crawl 2 feet per second. To find how many feet she can crawl in 13 seconds, we multiply the amount she can crawl per second (2) by the total seconds she needs to crawl (13). 13*2 = 26. So she can crawl 26 feet in 13 seconds. the record now is 24 feet. so to find the difference between the current recond and the amount she can crawl, we subtract: 26 - 24 = 2. She can crawl faster than the current record by 2 feet
