What does it mean that our national government is a system of checks and balances?

Answer:

Power is equally balanced within the US Government. What this means is that when Congress would pass a bill, the judicial system would check if it is constitutional or not. The executive branch would pass it. Not one branch is more powerful than the other and not branch has less power than the others.
