Answer: 74

Explanation:

Lets say the four even numbers are 2x - 4, 2x - 2 , 2x , 2x + 2

The sum would be

8x - 4 = 284

x = 36

Therefore, the smallest number is 2 * 36 - 4 = 68

The consecutive even numbers are 68, 70, 72, 74 and 74 is the largest.
