- X - 2x = 2x

- X 5y = -5y

(5x - 8y) (2x - 5y)

5x X 2x = 10x^2

5x X -5y = -25xy

-8y X 2x = -16xy

-8y X -5y = 40y^2

therefore

= 10x^2 + 40y^2 -25xy -16xy

= 10x^2 + 40y^2 - 41xy
