Use the midpoint formula to solve the following: a segment ab has endpoints at a(2,9) and b(6,6) determine the coordinates of the midpoint leave your answer as (x,y) with space after the comma.

Solution

For this case the midpoint formula is given by:


M=((x_1+x_2)/(2),(y_1+y_2)/(2))

For this case we have x1= 2, y1= 9 and x2= 6, y2=6

And if we replace we got:


M=((2+6)/(2),(9+6)/(2))

M=(4, 7.5)
