The primary of a step-down transformer connected to a 240 V source has 1500 turns. The secondary has 200 turns. What is the output voltage of this transformer?

The relation of voltage and coil turns on an ideal transformer can be written as:


(V_1)/(V_2)=(N_1)/(N_2)

Thus, for our data we can replace the values and we'll get:


(240)/(V_2)=(1500)/(200)\Rightarrow V_2=32V

Thus, the output will be 32V
