Vertex of parabola. ax^2 + bx + c

its defined by

x = ( -b/2a)

y = (4ac - b^2)/. 4a

Now find equation of parabola y = ax^2 + bx + c

ROOTs of parabola are

x = -6 ,. and. x= -2

Then multiply now

(x + 6) • (x +2 ) = x^2 + 8x + 12

THEN find a,b,c

a = 1,

b= 8

c= 12

Now finally find Vertex

Vertex = ( -8/2. , 4•12- 8^2/4)

Vertex = (-4 , -4)

So then coordinates for Vertex are

x = -4

y = -4
