Pelvic spurs are vestigial structures. What is a vestigial structure?

Vestigial structures are an anatomical feature that no longer has a purpose in the current form of the organism, they do not have a apparent function like the pelvic spurs, human appendix and tail bone. It is most likely to be a residual part from a past ancestor.
