We have two angles that are complementary and they are given in the algebraic form.

Complementry angles are ones, whose sum is always 90 degrees.

(12x-7)+(9x+13)\text{ = 90}
21x+6=90
x\text{ = }((90-6))/(21)=4

Therefore ZDEG = 12(4) -7 = 41 and ZGEN = 9 (4) +13 = 49

Sum of these two angles is indeed 90 degrees, so we have our answer.
